Polyphenols in olive oil: a natural dietary supplement for your health

The market for dietary supplements is growing every year – vitamin capsules, energy pills, immunity tablets… But what if there was a natural way to support your health without artificial supplements? The answer lies in polyphenol-rich extra virgin olive oil .

What are polyphenols and why do they matter?

Polyphenols are powerful antioxidants that protect cells from stress and aging. They are found in fruits, vegetables – and in the highest quality olive oils.

✔ Supports cardiovascular health
✔ They have anti-inflammatory effects
✔ Strengthens immunity
✔ They provide energy and vitality

Farmer Farmstein also explains it very well.

Polyphenols – allies of future health?

In the world of nutritional science, polyphenols are increasingly emerging as key players in the prevention and promotion of health. These natural compounds, abundantly present in fruits, vegetables, teas and microgreens, are associated with a number of positive effects - especially in the fight against chronic diseases, oxidative stress and inflammation.

Polyphenols and chronic diseases

Chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer are among the leading causes of death worldwide, but research is increasingly showing that polyphenols can significantly influence their course. For example, a study published in Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity has confirmed that flavonoids – a type of polyphenol – can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and contribute to lowering blood pressure. Similarly, it appears that polyphenol consumption may be associated with a lower risk of certain types of cancer.

Polyphenols and oxidative stress

Oxidative stress, a byproduct of metabolism, leads to cell damage and contributes to aging and a number of diseases. Thanks to their antioxidant properties, polyphenols act as a natural protector - they neutralize the free radicals that trigger this process. A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that a diet rich in polyphenols can protect against oxidative damage, slow the aging process and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Polyphenols and inflammation

Inflammation is the body's natural defense, but when it persists for a long time, it becomes a risk factor for many diseases - from arthritis to Alzheimer's disease. Polyphenols act as effective anti-inflammatory agents. Research published in MDPI confirms that their effect is related to the ability to block enzymes and proteins that regulate inflammatory processes

Olive oil vs. dietary supplements

Unlike capsules and powders, olive oil is not only healthy but also tasty. Just a tablespoon a day in a salad, on grilled vegetables or on fresh bread - and your body will get a dose of antioxidants in the most natural form.
